An unusual marriage of programs targeting at-risk high school students and unemployed adults is expected to take shape late this year in Buffalo, thanks to a public-private partnership involving four local and state groups.
As designated by Congress, February is Career and Technical Education Month in Missouri. Career education programs are an important part of the comprehensive curriculum available to high school students, as well as provide adults with many options for career and technology education.
CivicWeek, a program of the Civic Education Project at Center for Talent Development, Northwestern University, offers gifted students from across the country the opportunity to serve communities, explore a career, and learn how to make a difference. Each program provides a unique opportunity for high school students to gain hands-on experience with important social issues while exploring careers that serve the public interest in fields like criminal justice, education reform, public health and urban development.
